Letters From Partners

When I was midway through my freshman year at LSU, I found myself with $1.50 to my name and no reliable source of income. It was then that I realized financial planning was the backbone to comfort, and I quickly learned to appreciate and respect the value of a dollar.. Furthermore, it has become a passion of mine. I truly enjoy helping people plan for financial independence and retirement.

A few years later, during my Junior year of undergrad at LSU, I met a financial advisor in the stands of a football game. He and I spent the entire game talking about the industry that is wealth management. We stayed in touch and a few years later when I had completed my MBA program, he offered me a job in New Orleans. It was invaluable to have a friend and mentor by my side. I had always gravitated toward finance and math, but enjoyed the personal relationships that come with creating lifetime clients.

In the meantime, while graduating college, completing my MBA, and getting my licenses to be a financial advisor, I met the love of my life. Lindsey was in Dental School at LSU in New Orleans which meshed perfectly with my job in the Big Easy. Halfway through her 4 year program I was promoted to her hometown of Lafayette, LA. We spent those two years commuting back and forth with the plans to set roots in Lafayette when she graduated.

Lindsey and I now have 3 beautiful children, Searcy, Graham, and Monroe. Year round, we chase our kids around the neighborhood and ballgames and attend Asbury Methodist Church. In the spring, I'm a North Louisiana transplant that Mardi Gras's and am an avid yet bad golfer. In the summer we love swimming and spending time at outdoors. We spend the fall at LSU football games and the deer lease with the boys. No matter the season, we enjoy a great meal, wine and life experiences with family and friends.

Co-Founding Coastal Capital Advisors was one of the easiest decisions of my life. After over a decade in a big bank environment, it became clear to me that a more personal environment was the best way for me to provide more individual financial planning to my friends and clients.

As co-founder and partner, I now want to provide you with a financial plan and advice at Coastal Capital Advisors. I will provide Clarity, Commitment, Accountability.

They say children learn from their parents. Growing up, my father worked closely with clients in a similar industry in south Louisiana. I observed the way that he listened attentively to his clients, hearing their needs, plans, and goals and guided them in making decisions that suited them. The most important lesson in business that my father taught me was that the client wasn’t just about business, but that they are your friends, neighbors, and family. I learned how to build relationships with those I work with, which ensures that their best interests are met, and that makes my work truly meaningful.

Louisiana, specifically Acadiana, is home. After graduating from Hanson Memorial High School in Franklin, I moved to Lafayette to attend UL, where I received my degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Following my late father’s lead, I wanted to advise.

It felt natural, and that instinct was my guide throughout my career. My work continued beyond the office, though. I have been involved in my community, having served as Board President of The Family Tree, and volunteering for organizations such as United Way and Boy Scouts of America. My children, David and Ava, are my greatest treasures, and they have afforded me the opportunity to consistently develop to become a better version of myself. Relationships are the language of my life so being with those I love is my favorite pastime. Aside from that, I would consider myself a sports enthusiast, computer geek, board game champion, master chef, and beer virtuoso.

Now that you know more about me, let’s have a conversation about you. Let’s map a route to meet your goals so that you can chase your dreams and enjoy the things that matter most.
